Week 5

I am down 2.6 lbs this week for a total of 26.6 lbs. The weight is coming off much slower these weeks and I find I’m sometimes wishing the next few months would just fly by. I have to stop and focus on the now. I just feel better in general, I am less tired even though I’m getting less sleep and feel more present.

Audio books are one of the best things I have introduced into my life. The first book I listened to was a happy mistake. I thought I was ordering the book Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, but I realized when it arrived it was the audio book. I listened to it in the van waiting for the girls at dance. I loved it. The girls were even laughing at him recalling some of his childhood stories. On a show they were watching they saw packages from Zappos and excitedly yelled for me to come see. I lent my CD’s to Jen, who then found Audible because she loved listening to his book at the gym. I copied her and signed up and started listening to audio books while doing the cleaning shifts at work and while on the treadmill at the gym. It makes the time go by so much quicker and I am learning so much about myself at the same time. Some of them have been hard listens, Daring Greatly by Brene Brown made me tear up more then once making me realize some truths about myself and especially my parenting.

I still have a long journey ahead, but I am seeing progress in all areas of my life and a new desire to actually live, not just exist.
