Today I am thankful for spunky older ladies. While at work, I was chatting with a lady who was picking out yarn. She is a seamstress who likes to make a lot of her clothes so that she will never show up in the same outfit as anyone else. She told me how she likes to eat healthy foods, be active and do exciting things. She certainly didn’t look or seem her age. This lady was full of compliments, energy and just made you feel good to be around her. I want to be just like her when I grow up.

Thank you to everyone working in the education field. Teachers, principals, early educators, tutors, bus drivers, and the crosswalk guard. You all went above and beyond to make sure all of the kids felt welcomed back to school. Your smiling faces make it so much easier to leave my kids in your capable hands. The effort you put in behind the scenes is very much appreciated.

The day after school was out for my kiddos, I posted a picture on Facebook captioned “The first day of summer vacation.” I decided a fun way to make sure I took lots of pictures this summer would be to post daily a picture of something we did that day.

I didn’t remember every day, but I ended up taking way more pictures than usual. Tonight while looking back at our summer, I was struck by how lucky I am to have so many amazing people in my life and my children’s.

I declare September a month of gratitude. Daily I will post something I am thankful for.

Sept 1- I am thankful for my friends and family who make it a priority to spend time with my kids.

Week 9

This week I am down 2.4 lbs for a total of 41.2 lbs.

Last Friday I decided I would start Couch 2 5K again, I had tried a few summers ago, found it hard and stopped. It may take me longer to complete it, but I will finish it and run the Valley Harvest 5K in October. I’ve signed up in the past and I never completed it, this year I will run it, even if I cry the whole time.
